last week we also went to check out THE crossing at abbey road studios. i'm not a huge beatles fan or anything but it was cool to see it ... and laugh at everyone stopping traffic trying to get their ridiculous photos. and look! there we are on the live webcam!
so i disappeared from the face of the earth again. turns out this whole working a gajillion hours a week really wears me out. so i've resolved to blog whenever i feel like it, rather than making it a chore and putting it off. so it will probably just document the stuff i do on my days off. and i'm cool with that.
last week rudi's friend tom was visiting so we went to camden markets. the sun was shining, meaning even if the market was awful, it was still going to be a great day. it turned out the market was alright. it wasn't as super cool as i'd remembered (i visited in the first week i arrived in london) but i still really enjoyed it. i just freaking love london markets really. and having our lunch by the lock was lovely.
yesterday both rudi and i had the day off. yep, that's right. the WHOLE day. together. very exciting indeed. the sun was shining so we headed to kensington gardens and hyde park for a picnic. it was just beautiful. we wandered. we treated ourselves to afternoon tea (or beer!) at the orangery. the tea was divine. the service was rubbish. we hired barclays boris bikes. they were a nightmare. but awesome fun once we finally got on them! we saw marble arch. we went home. it may not have been the most perfectly smooth sailing day. but it was fun ... and nice to just be together.
i know these are pretty rubbish photos. but i literally had my arms hanging out my bedroom window to take them ... and i was mainly focused on not dropping my camera from the fourth floor. it wasn't so much that the sunset was pretty that captured my attention. it was that it was changing so quickly and almost looked like a fire. i'd never seen anything like it.
i have a confession. even though it was an absolutely beautiful sunny day on sunday, i stayed indoors all day. and did a whole lot of not much. but at around 7pm i finally went out. and it was glorious. these are a few shots i took in chiswick. and can i just say i am loving how late it stays light!

syon is my fave fave fave cafe and i go there almost every day. i take lots of photos but i've never actually posted any so here are some from when rudi and i met for a midweek lunch date last week. i had the halloumi and hummus salad and he had the chicken and bacon. both very tasty, as is all of their food. and the coffee is amazing. AND the owners are sooooo lovely. i love it. it is definitely my happy place.
i kinda fell off the planet for a bit there. i have been super run down and in amongst moving house and starting a new job and still finishing my old job and just running around like a plain lunatic, i haven't posted in almost a week! so here is a pretty pic of a tree with orange leaves that i was going to include in last week's three things post but never got around to doing. hopefully i'll get my act together soon and start posting again!
i am addicted to this at the moment. wholemeal toast, polish mayo, soft-boiled eggs, cherry tomatoes cooked with a little oil and garlic, and lots of salt and pepper. it is heaven. and easy peasy. and it goes down a treat any time of the day or night!
soooooo ... yesterday rudi and i moved into our new flat! i am excited beyond comprehension! i don't even really know what else to say ... except YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
